This week we welcome Ricky to the CBFC Artist Spotlight!
Q. Where are you from?
A. I was born in El Salvador and raised in Queens NY. But live in West Palm FL.
Q. How long you’ve been drawing?
A. Since the age of 6, I’ll be 39 this year.
Q. What materials do prefer to do your art with?
A. I’m a graphic designer, so digitally I prefer a computer, wacom, and adobe suite, but physically I prefer Markers, spray cans, paint, and vinyl.
Q. Character do you love to draw?
A. All old school characters, the older the best, my favorite are the 80s cartoons (the ones I grew up watching on TV).
Q. Character that you want to draw that you haven’t drawn yet?
A. Voltron and megazord.. I tried but I can’t it right, I’m not that detailistic with redrawing.
Q. What artist inspires you the most and why?
A. I have many, Andy Warhol, Keith Herring, Banksy, Alec Monopoly, and VOKA. Amazing amazing amazing artist.
Q. What was your first published work?
A. I was part of a novel called Grace Flynn, where I did the digital wording and digital line work of the drawing that was published and sold online and Barnes &Nobles.
Q. Which artist would you love to do a collaboration piece with?
A. Alec Monopoly and Banksy
