This week, we welcome Stefanos Katsoulas to the CBFC Artist Spotlight!
Q. Where did you grow up at?
A. I was born and raised in athens, Greece.
Q. How long have you been drawing?
A. I begin sketching since 17 years old (now I’m 33) but with a lot of ups and downs and I’m doing anime glass paintings a couple of years now!
Q. When growing up what artist did you idolize?
A. Akira toriyama(huge DBZ fan)
Q. What character is your favorite to draw and why?
A. My favourite comic character to draw is Hulk and from anime world is Gohan from dbz.
Q. A character that is on your “To Draw” list?
A. Comic classic Wolverine!!
Q. Could you please provide some tips on how to overcome artist’s block?
A. Take a step back from drawing, visualise what do you want to do, relax and even take a long break from it and check other styles of drawing other than yours, you may found some interesting things about art.
Q. What artist would you love or would have loved to collaborate with?
A. Anyone from pop culture comic or anime world…they are literally so smooth in their strokes and i want to teach about the imagination and how to make into reality! Everybody can have ideas to come true!
Q. What advice do you have for new artists or people who want to become artists?
A. Just try it , you can draw anything you want from doodles such as simple lines circles or crosss(like myself) and step by step with love, consistency and passion you can become anyone you want!!!
