This week we welcome Giulia Gualazzi to the CBFC Artist Spotlight!

Q. Where are you from?
A. I’m from Milan, Italy.

Q. How long you’ve been drawing?
A. I’ve been drawing since childhood, but I’ve committed to invest in my passion after finishing high school, about 19 years old.

Q. What materials do prefer to do your art with?
A. I love and I currently use digital supports, like graphic tablets, but the feeling I get when using traditional paper and brush is incomparable.

Q. Character you love to draw?
A. I honestly love drawing superheroes, as I start getting into comics with Jim lee and Greg Capullo.

Q. Character that you want to draw that you haven’t drawn yet?
A. Batman for sure!

Q. What artist inspires you the most and why?
A. I honestly have taken so much from so many different artists from all over the world, but I think Jim lee has to be at the top. The fact that he has been rejected so many times but he has never given up, instead he has built his own path and become one of the most influential artists is an inspiring story for everyone.

Q. What was your first published work?
A. The very first comic issue I’ve worked on is spin cycle, written by Jeffrey Wilson, available on Comixology.

Q. Which artist would you love to do a collaboration piece with?
A. lately I’ve been in love with Jorge Jimenez’s work, so it’d be amazing to do a collab with him.

Thank Giulia Gualazzi for taking the time to answer a few of our questions! Be sure to give her a follow!

-Chris
