This week we welcome John Marroquin to the CBFC Artist Spotlight!
Q. Where are you from?
A. Born and raised in southwest Detroit.
Q. How long you’ve been drawing?
A. I don’t have any memories of me not drawing.
Q. What materials do you prefer to do your art with?
A. I’m a traditional guy, blue or red pencil and copic ink pens.
Q. Character you love to draw?
A. Venom is pretty fun.
Q. Character that you want to draw that you haven’t drawn yet?
A. The Sentry
Q. What artist inspires you the most and why?
A. Ryan Ottley, because he’s not a traditional superhero artist, he has a cartoony style, so do I.
Q. What was your first published work?
A. A story in nightmare world at the time published by Devils Due.
Q. Which artist would you love to do a collaboration piece with?
A. Joe Quesada.
