This week we welcome Nick Wagner to the CBFC Artist Spotlight!

Q. Where are you from?

A. I am from Jacksonville, FL. Born , raised, and currently reside.

Q. How long you’ve been drawing?

A. According to my Grandmother I have been drawing since I was 3, and she has the drawings to prove it! Haha! Even though there was a time in high school where I slacked a lot to pursue girls and the guitar haha!

Q. What materials do prefer to do your art with?

A. I am still in love with pencil, pen and paper, but my favorite “finished” medium is watercolors. I LOVE oils, but I don’t have the space or the patience for them

Q. Character you love to draw?

A. When I was younger, I loved to draw the Uncanny X-men, and the fantastic Four (both from the John Byrne era runs) but my top two were Colossus and Nightcrawler

Q. Character that you want to draw that you havn’t drawn yet?

A. Ooooo, that’s a tough one….I’ve had the opportunity to draw and even tattoo so many, but…Lying Cat from SAGA would be it!

Q. What artist inspires you the most and why?

A. Other artists: Comic book, fine artists, digital artists. If it grabs me, I’ll devour it. The current favorites that pop to mind are Arthur Adams, Jessica Cooper: @jawcooper , James Jean @jamesjeanart , and Frank Cho.

Q. What was your first published work?

A. Sadly, I have no idea. I’m pretty sure it was in a tattoo magazine at some point in ’96 or ’97! This is what happens when you get old, forget things haha.

Q. Which artist would you love to do a collaboration piece with?

A. HARDEST…QUESTION…EVER… HAHA….but
seriously?! uuuuuuh, ok

○ Dead, Alphonse Mucha

○ Alive… Arthur Adams

○ My buddy George Campise
