This week, we welcome Daniel Scott JR to the CBFC Artist Spotlight!

Q. Where are you from?

A.Fort Worth, Texas

Q. How long you’ve been drawing?

A. All my life. Current medium: 30 years.

Q. What materials do you prefer to do your art with?

A. Candy Wrappers

Q. Character you love to draw?

A. Batman. Texture and contrast work well with his torment.

Q. Character that you want to draw that you haven’t drawn yet?

A. Dazzler (mockups are done)

Q. What artist inspires you the most and why?

A. Martin Simmonds. Comic-wise: The surreal out-of-the-box, mixed media type. Nothing is off-limits.
Art wise: Expressionism and the Pop Art movement. The ability to depict emotion and mood with a limit color palette.

Q. What was your first published work?

A. Article: Fort Worth Magazine, January 2021.
Comic: with Candy Wrappers, “I Hate You, Please Die!” No.1 Cover F. Four Color Fiends, with Garrett Gunn, 2023.

Q. Which artist would you love to do a collaboration piece with?

A. Comic Artists: Martin Simmonds, Simon Bisley, or Glenn Fabry
Traditional Artists: Invader, KAWS, and possibly Shepard Fairey would be interesting to mix up.
